One powerful way to improve your athletic performance in any sport is by learning to jump higher. There’s no doubt that high school athletes to college intramural players to city recreational league players to professional athletes all want to jump higher to be more successful at their sport. This article will provide a basic understanding of how to jump higher as well as some effective techniques.
When people say that they want to jump higher, they are basically saying they want to increase vertical jump. Professional and collegiate athletes generally have a vertical jump in the 26-36 inch range. Although some of these athletes have a genetically bestowed ability to jump high, most of them–and generally all non-professional athletes–can use certain exercises to increase vertical leap to new levels. Roughly speaking, we can divide these exercises into strength and power training portions.
Genetics Factors
Genetics factors play a significant role in acne formation, although we do not know which genes exactly are involved. It is likely that combination of genes from both parents are responsible.
It is common to see that several members in the same family have acne. If one or both parents have severe acne, then the child is also at risk of developing severe acne.
Whether or not you are a trained amateur or professional athlete or perhaps even a casual runner, you owe your body the proper nutritional balance in order to compete or exercise efficiently. Aside from being physically fit and toned your body is in constant need for proper hydration and a balance of the proper nutritional intake. Todays highly demanding athletic events create both the exciting atmosphere for fun competition and at the same time can be a dangerous environment for those athletes and non-athletes to participate in.
The media today craves the record breaking performance. The athlete’s whether professional or non-professional seek victory. Many train for weeks if not months to compete at levels beyond the expected competition. The separation between winners and losers is often seconds. When a competitor knows the value of even a 1-2 second improvement they will go to great lengths to train their body and mind to achieve this level of gain. This is where nutritional development is often times neglected. The body craves fluids and nutritional in-take to properly hydrate and provide the level of energy to the muscles and water to cool the body to levels of proper efficiency and not over tax the entire system from performing at an optimal level. If the body is not prepared in advance of the event then the entire system can literally shut down on an athlete performing or even worse cause damage internally that could lead to greater challenges in the future.
In my current role as a consultant and trainer, I travel quite regularly, and am able to experience service at some of the finest hotels in the world. In fact, I consider myself to be an expert in not only assessing world-class service, but delivering world-class service as well. During a recent business trip to Chicago, Illinois, I stayed at one of that city’s finest hotels, and was thoroughly impressed with the flawless execution of virtually every service detail. Particularly, I was privileged to have been “roomed” by the most professional and genuine bellman I have ever met. In strength management, a strength is defined as consistent near-perfect performance in a given activity. Basically, that means that someone is doing something so remarkably well, that everyone else looks on in awe as this strength is being displayed (this is easily seen in many professional athletes). This particular bellman definitely has a phenomenal strength for making people feel not only welcomed but treated as royalty. His delivery was effortless, precise, and genuine at the same time.
Allow me to walk you through the service experience as I witnessed it…. After the front desk agent checked me in, she walked around the counter and introduced me to “Tim”. He immediately used my name and welcomed me to the hotel, and told me that I should anticipate having a wonderful stay at “his” hotel. As he escorted me to the guest elevator, he gave a thorough description of various hotel amenities such as the dining outlets, spa facilities, and gift shop. He then said that he would meet me at my room in about five minutes with the rest of my luggage that I had given to the doorman earlier.
If you watch the professional athletes they all have routines whether it is pre-game routines, during the game or post game routines. Some will say that they are superstitions but there is a difference. Developing routines allows the athlete to find consistency and can help the athlete to maintain a controlled state whether they are winning or losing.
Routines are important as they are all individual and are designed by the athlete upon knowing what is comfortable and what works for them. Athletes on a team may have to work together as a team and they may have to warm-up as a team but a good coach will also allow each individual to go through their own routines.
Whether you know it or not, you were born with the natural ability to meet people and build relationships. Even if you don’t spend much time proactively building relationships, you should be able to point to numerous examples of relationship building with friends and co-workers.
While we are all born with the ability to connect, some of us utilize this skill more than others. If you haven’t utilized your inherent relationship-building skills yet, then it’s time to unleash them onto the world.
There are many that think and argue that professional athletes should be better role models and that when they engage in unsportsmanlike behavior and criminal activity it just plainly sets a bad example to todays youth.
Many will also argue that athletes are hired by their employer and are paid to do their job and are not paid to be role models. This makes sense and it is true that they are not paid to be a role model but whether they like it or not athletes are role models.
