Frequently, I get chain letters and nice presentations to my E-mail box containing some “wisdom” that my friends believe they must share with me and all their friends. It could be about Love, Happiness, Friendship, Money and other “life philosophies”. Some of them even contain a threat that if I do not pass it on, something terrible will happen to me, and if I do pass them on, I’ll get a reward… I am sure that all of you who communicate through e-mail know what I am talking about…

Many times I get the same presentation again and again. I do wander sometimes why people continue this chain of e-mails although some of them are really rubbish, what is the power in this tool that makes our brain numb?

Do you want to stop pollution? One of the best things you can do to stop pollution is to stop polluting yourself and look in your mirror. Recycle your trash when you can and keep your car tuned up so that it runs efficiently. You could also keep your home immaculate as an example and try not to waste water. You could teach your children about the environment and teach them not to litter. You should be doing all these things already. One thing you can do is volunteer after civic events to work on the trash clean-up crew with your kids, this will teach them to be good stewards and not to pollute.

There are many things you can do to help. Sometimes people go out of their way to tell everyone else what to do yet drive a car with leaky rings which spews out smoke or tell everyone else to conserve fuel while they waste water as it runs down the driveway and into to the gutter and down the street it goes. There is so much you can do and if we all do a little, we all prevent a lot of pollution.

One might have hoped that China would have learned some lessons about pollution by watching America’s expansion problems over the decades, but China’s explosive growth has brought its industrial pollution problem to a level that will require some drastic steps to fix. That’s the bad news. The good news is that Chinese officials seem to be ready to take steps to reduce the country’s pollution problems before they get totally out of hand.

The Online Think Tank has run across a very interesting new concept and all though this is such a common occurrence you are probably saying; that makes sense. But this time the concept came in from an inventor named Richard Walker. It is a Super Ball Piston Motor, which is completely Pollution-less and Fuel-less, but what can we use them for?

It seems the potential killer applications for such a super ball motor are infinite. And thus I hath been considering this Super Ball Motor concept. And have the following thoughts. One great application would be for Space Flight, it would be perfect for it.

Have you been reading the research, reports and white papers on China’s pollution problems? The Chinese Government has been taking the approach that the solution to pollution is dilution. The incredible strategy worked good for a while but as China’s flexes her economic muscle she could pull something and cause herself to miss the rest of the season. You see China as a drought issue and its need for city water has increased in the largest cities like Shanghai and Beijing. Unfortunately twenty percent of their water is lost in these cities to leaky pipes alone.

The Dam Project is shaky and it is on shaky ground, as in Earthquake Fault Regions. Additionally it is flooding valley where the water is also polluted. On top of that their rivers are often polluted with sewage and oil spills and they are still eating the fish. Did you know less that half of the sewage from China’s largest cities is treated? Where does it go? Well that is one reason that the Dolphins do not come around any more, they are sick and tired of that…

In highly populated Vietnam, whose small landmass of 330,000 square kilometers holds 78 million people, a major concern has always been transportation. Efficient and inexpensive, scooters and motorbikes have become the most popular way of movement of many inhabitants of the large metropolitan centers. The downside of this trend is the environmental effects of pollution generated primarily from the scores of small, mainly two stroke engines that can emit as much or more exhaust as 3 large semi trucks.

Two stroke engine powered vehicles burn an oil-gasoline mixture, emitting more smoke, carbon monoxide, hydrocarbons, and particulate matter than their four stroke cousins. Unfortunately these engines are cheaper to buy and easier to maintain. In Hochiminh city, much to the chagrin of clean air proponents, many city dwellers have set up their own independent “baby taxis” by simply adding sidecars to their small motorbikes and scooters. This makes the dirty two stroke engines work even harder, because of their insufficient power to carry 2 or more passengers, belching out even more exhaust than ever.
