Wrong, trees in Europe are produced on well managed suatainable forests conforming to the FSC scheme to ensure that old growth forests are not impinged by managed plantations.

Look up the phrase “reading comprehension.” Tress are not cut down solely for paper. Paper taking up landfill space is a weak argument as well, the paper simply biodegrades back into the soil.

Add some sludge that results from the recycling process to that lake and it will be accurate.

Well done except you didn’t give all the facts. What about all the pollution due to the recycling process? Who will plant and replant those trees if we stopped using paper? This is typical misguided propaganda.

It only takes as little as 9 years for trees to make paper to grow. If you plants 9 plots of land one year apart then after 9 years you have a harvest each year!
Because we need paper we grow MORE beautiful trees and have larger forests.
The more paper we recycle the LESS trees we plant…geddit!!
See Penn and Tellers Recycling is Bullshit and learn a thing or two.

i say you should go somewhere else. and yeah, eating bread to save wheat makes sense. You can save wheat. what’s wrong with that? the point here is that, we can have beautiful and large trees that make our world a better place. what we are trying to do is recycle the paper and re use it so it doesn’t take up more landfill. Every day, over 200 trees are chopped down for paper…why would anyone want these harmless and beautiful trees chopped down just because we need paper?

ok, one thing, trees take YEars to plant, it they have to be nourished properly.What this person is trying to say here is that, recycling paper is a better alternative then taking down grown trees. Why would u want to waste trees in to paper when you can recycle the paper and re use it. Leave the beautiful trees to live, and help make more oxygen.

WHAT A LOAD OF UNEDUCATED NONSENSE Recyclng paper does not save trees, all trees felled to make paper come from carefully managed renewable forests.
In the US there are 20% more trees than 30 years ago because of this.
In the UK our forestry has more than doubled since the second world war.
Trees are an organic renewable, sustainable resource.
Recycling paper reduces the amount of trees planted and causes a great deal of pollution in de-inking and transportation.

However Recycling paper DOES use less energy than virgin papermaking, but this energy is FOSSIL FUEL DERIVED; whereas virgin paper mills use the parts of the tree that cannot be used to make paper to create carbon neutral energy and modern mills are self sufficient in this clean power (some even sell their excess energy to their national grid)
Recycling paper to save trees is like not eating bread to save wheat!
Use more virgin paper and plant bigger forests I say!
;-}
