At the Allegany County,NY dump where I saw a very large coil of copper wire discarded in the contractor section and showed it to the hired attendant who said it was not his job to recycle it and would not let me do it either. I don’t know how true this is but someone said 1/3 of the worlds copper is in landfills, 1/3 is in use and 1/3 is unmined. It’s about mind set, it’s about lazy, it’s about arrogance.

The original paper making process creates dioxin and other bad materials, most recycled paper goes to making unbleached cardboard and no trees get cut down (trees absorb carbon). The tonnage of waste grows larger each year as the curent fleet of garbage trucks gets older, the dream is that the new fleet will take all the recyclables back and eliminate the landfills which make the least sense. The kids have it right Recycle.

Great more brain washed retards being raised in the world. Most of the landfills that are closed you don’t see them anymore because they become parks. We are not running out of room for our trash. And the only thing that makes sense to recycle is aluminum everything else wastes more resources and energy. Recycling newspaper creates toxic waste because you have to bleach off the ink. Glass is made out of SAND so creating all new fleets of large trucks to pick up these things doesn’t make sense.
