For many countries the global warming is a sign of the coming nature cataclysm. In tropical countries less and less precipitations fall, water reserves decrease, fires break out very often. But for inhabitants of Greenland the warming promises cheerful perspectives.
Earlier it was possible to cultivate only early ripening varieties of potatoes and cold-resistant turnips on this island, that is the largest one in the world. Experts confirm that because of climate fluctuation, soon it will be possible to cultivate more vegetables, such as cabbage and lettuce.
According to the scientists, the ice on the island melts 4 times faster than 10 years ago and summer temperature rises stably to +20°C. And maybe in the future, sealers and fishermen will prefer to cultivate vegetables and strawberries. Now people are creating a network of greenhouses that are warmed by means of solar batteries all the year around, and the crop is quite rich.
While the whole planet is bothered with the global warming problem, the inhabitants of Greenland instead of moving to a warmer place on the Earth, are pretty glad with it. The Glaciers are melting now faster for times faster as the did 10 years ago with the speed of 300 cubic kilometers per year. One Greenland farmer has already managed to gather a pretty good crop of tomatoes and bananas with satisfactory taste properties in his glasshouses.
By the way, Greenland is going to be a separate state, separating completely from the Denmark that was the legislative source for Greenland. The referendum held there has revealed that the majority of the population would like to live in a totally independent separate state.
